Retirement Planning Guidance

Retirement is a major life change that can reshape your income, financial priorities, and future plans. I’m Brian Vaughn, the Life Changer behind Vaughn Life. I provide retirement planning guidance to help individuals and families understand their options and prepare with greater confidence. You don’t need a certain amount of money or a perfect plan to start—just bring your questions, and we can begin where you are today.

Why Retirement Planning Matters

Retirement can change several parts of your financial life at once.

Your priorities may shift from building financial resources toward considering how those resources will support the years ahead. Insurance needs may look different. Family responsibilities can evolve. Questions about protection, legacy goals, and long-term financial security may become more important.

Planning gives you an opportunity to consider those questions before or as circumstances change.

I do not believe retirement planning should begin with a predetermined financial product. It should begin with understanding what retirement means to you.

What are you working toward? What financial responsibilities might continue? What concerns do you have? Which parts of your current financial picture deserve another look?

Those questions can help identify the areas that require attention.

You may simply be wondering whether your current life insurance still fits your family. You may have recently married or welcomed a child. Perhaps you changed careers and are reconsidering your benefits and financial priorities. Maybe retirement is approaching, or an unexpected life event has made you think differently about the future.

Insurance and Your Retirement Strategy

My primary practice focuses on insurance planning and insurance-based financial solutions. Depending on your circumstances, insurance may be one consideration within a broader retirement strategy.

For example, you may want to review existing life insurance as retirement approaches. Coverage purchased earlier in life may have been designed around responsibilities that have since changed. Your family, income, obligations, and legacy priorities may now look different.

That does not automatically mean you need more, less, or different insurance.

It means retirement can be a useful time to understand what you currently have, why you have it, and whether it continues to align with your goals.

My role is to help you explore those insurance-related questions without assuming one approach is right for everyone.

Retirement Planning After a Life Change

Retirement itself is a major transition, but it may not be the only change affecting your plans.

A career change later in life may alter your expected retirement timeline. Marriage can create shared goals and new financial considerations. Family changes may affect responsibilities or legacy priorities. An unexpected event could cause you to reconsider when retirement will happen or what you want it to look like.

Plans should have room to respond when life changes.

If something has shifted, you do not need to wait until you have a new plan worked out before asking for guidance. Sometimes the first step is simply identifying which assumptions have changed and which questions need to be revisited.

Connecting Retirement With Wealth and Legacy Goals

Retirement planning can overlap with other financial priorities.

You may be thinking about wealth building strategies as you prepare for the future, or you may be considering what financial resources you eventually want to leave to your family. Insurance may have a role in certain legacy or estate planning protection objectives, depending on your situation.

These areas can require different types of expertise.

I focus on insurance planning and related financial guidance. When your needs require investment-specific recommendations, I partner with another licensed advisor. When legal, tax, or estate-planning advice is necessary, appropriate professionals should also be involved.

I believe recognizing those boundaries creates a clearer, more responsible planning conversation.

All of those can be valuable outcomes.

Retirement Guidance Without a Wealth Minimum

You may associate retirement planning with people who have already accumulated significant wealth.

That is not how I approach it.

I work with everyday individuals and families, and there is no minimum financial requirement to talk with me. Retirement questions matter whether you feel completely prepared, are still building toward your goals, or simply want to understand your options more clearly.

I have been in business since 2007 and hold an MBA in Finance from Arizona State University. I bring that education and real-world financial experience to each conversation while keeping the process approachable and focused on you.

You are welcome to ask questions. You are also welcome to say that you need more information or more time.

There is no pressure to make a decision simply because we have talked.

A Retirement Conversation Built Around You

Financial services can become overly focused on numbers and products. Those things may matter, but they are not the whole retirement conversation.

I want to know what you want retirement to mean.

Maybe you want more time with family. Perhaps you are preparing for a major lifestyle change. You may be concerned about protecting a spouse, thinking about your legacy, or wondering how your current financial decisions fit together.

My job is to listen first, help you understand relevant considerations, and determine whether I can help directly or another professional should join the conversation.
